.SHORT TERM...Tonight through Saturday night.
Main impact in the short term is tracking a band of snow as it
pushes southwest this evening. At 1 pm the band ran from around
Driggs southwest through American Falls and was working
south/southwest. After 5 pm should mainly set up between
interstate 15 and interstate 84 from Pocatello through Burley.
Additional snowfall generally a half inch to 2 inches in the
Eastern Magic Valley and Snake River Plain with 1 to 4 inches in
the mountains south and west of interstate`s 15 and 86. Could see
some snow covered roads in that area and along interstate 84 as
well from Burley to the Utah border overnight. Will see lingering
snow showers there Saturday morning, but it will dry out Saturday
with the arrival of colder temperatures. Lows tonight will range
from zero to 10 below in eastern and central mountain valleys to
single digits and teens in the Snake River Plain. Highs Saturday
10 to 20 in the mountains and teens to lower 20s in valleys. Lows
Saturday night 15 below to 5 below mountains and 0 to 10 Snake
River Plain and Magic Valley.

.LONG TERM...Sunday through Friday. Colder air will continue to pour
into eastern Idaho. We have another "wave" passing by Sunday, which
will produce some flurries/light snow especially in upslope areas in
northerly flow. Right now chances and amounts are very low. The
coldest temperatures will be Sunday through Tuesday, especially
after we clear out later Sunday. Highs will be in the single digits
and teens where the coldest air can infiltrate, while remaining in
the 20s for places like Challis, Stanley, the Magic Valley, and
Oakley. Overnight lows will their lowest Monday, where colder spots
are well below zero and "warmer" locations remains in the 0 to +10
range. Wind Chills/Apparent Temperatures will be below zero in many
areas, with Monday likely seeing that across all of our forecast
area. Looking at thresholds for our EXTREME COLD WARNINGS, which are
-20 for more populated areas and -30 for our higher mountain
valleys...we will likely need headlines Monday and Tuesday morning
for many locations and potentially Sunday morning. The flow remains
north to northwest throughout next week. We should see some
moderation of temperatures with a couple of storms clipping the
Divide. Snow chances are low at the moment.  Keyes

.AVIATION...We are seeing conditions worsening as the leading surge
of low clouds and/or snow work south today. At SUN, low clouds have
moved in BUT we should see any snow, or any impactful snow at this
point in the next 24 hours. We COULD see light snow later Saturday
but we will need to monitor that, especially if stratus remains
across the Magic Valley and is kicked back into the Wood River
Valley. They should return to VFR tonight as the northwest flow
kicks in. Where snow occurs into late afternoon and evening, look
for IFR/LIFR conditions. We should see some improvement for a few
hours at IDA and DIJ, before lower stratus is forecast to return
tonight. While snow isn`t likely, with the colder airmass moving
in...it is conducive to at least a few flurries. The biggest enigma
will be BYI and PIH. It appears a convergence band sets up along the
cold front, which will stall/waffle back and forth between the 2 TAF
sites. We have either snow or VCSH for those sites through tomorrow
morning, and will likely need to amend those TAFs based on trends
